anthropologie; science of window dressing

I can lose hours relentlessly jumping from blogs to websites back to blogs then to online magazines, all in the quest to find images that really speak to me, offer inspiration, spark an idea and just look plain gorgeous.  One of my favourite pastimes is looking at the windows of anthropologie stores across the US.  Sad that I have to get my VM fix vicariously through the eyes of other bloggers, but I can live with that for now.  Here are some of my favourites.

Who would have thought balloon artistry could look this good.  Pink balloons and a ball of pink wool.  A window change happens every 12 weeks at each store by a team of in house VM wizard's.

The ability of these people to turn an everyday item into a show stopper gets me every time - and they have 130 stores.  That is a whole lot of book sourcing and page folding!

If anthropology is the science of humanity then anthropologie is surely the science of window dressing humanity - and we haven't even mentioned the clothes yet.  More on that another time.
